Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton was involved in a car accident this past weekend that left him seriously injured.
Norton is in critical condition as a result of the accident, but is expected to live, sources told South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Details regarding the crash have yet to be made public.
The Miami Herald added that the defender's injuries are “very serious.”
“We were made aware this morning of a serious car accident involving Kendrick Norton. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendrick and his family during this time,” the Dolphins said in a statement.
The Dolphins claimed Norton – who attended the University of Miami – off the Carolina Panthers' practice squad in 2018. He has yet to play a NFL snap.
Carolina selected Norton in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
